2021 has been a year like no other; we’ve had the global pandemic, the post lockdown bounce-back, record vacancies in the jobs market, rising inflation, a crisis in the logistics space, the accelerating rise of e-commerce, and a renewed focus on green energy, to name just a few of challenges and opportunities meeting businesses over the past 12 months.
Fortunately, we’ve been ready and well-equipped to help them ride out the storms and seize the openings for growth. Our fantastic team, supported by a field-based sales team, has continued to work tirelessly, putting all of our multi-industry knowledge and contacts, experience, flexibility and fast turn-around times to good use to make a real difference for hundreds of businesses. Here are the highlights for us this year…
Growth and success
Underpinning everything we do is our philosophy of making decisions that are fair and sensible – and we’ve been steadfast in that approach, which is why we think we’ve continued to grow despite the turbulent times, attracting new customers, and seeing old ones return time and again.
In 2021 we’ve brought on board more than 50 new clients and seen masses of repeat business, with 320 deals written this year alone, putting more than 1080 vital assets into use for businesses.
In June we celebrated a major milestone for our small team when the current business portfolio for Dawsongroup Finance exceeded £150million for the first time.
Beneath that headline figure sit assets of all shapes and sizes, helping businesses of every variety keep up with the competition and perform at their best. So, while we’ve financed plenty of trucks and trailers, cars and cold stores, factories and facilities –we’ve also financed a spa pool, fishing trawlers, and a Marmite sprayer, to give you just a flavour of the more unusual assets on our books.
New team members
To keep up with growing demand we’ve welcomed aboard some brilliant new team members; sales coordinator Sanoop Palliyil, our music festival-loving customer service ace, and operations administrator Karen Good, our resident gardening and DIY enthusiast, and organiser extraordinaire.
And in November we welcomed back the highly experienced and knowledgeable Kevin Maw as interim Head of Sales; he’s re-joining the team until March next year, having worked with us in the same role back in 2019.
End of year high points
Even in the last few weeks of the year we’re still hard at work. This festive period we’ve financed 200 new trailers for a major courier company – a £3million deal that will help them be ready to meet their clients’ needs at the busiest time of the year. And we’ve renewed a long-standing partnership with a supermarket chain, helping them to temporarily lease a large fleet of trucks and trailers for the Christmas rush.
A final thanks
Finally, as 2021 draws to a close, we want to say thank you and pay tribute to all the amazing businesses we work with – your innovation, creativity, expertise and vision continues to inspire, and we look forward to seeing what you’ll do – and how we can help you do it – in 2022.
