An interview with… Jack Chafe, Trainee Credit Analyst

Here in the third instalment in our blog mini-series introducing you to members of our hardworking Dawsongroup Finance family we’d like you to meet Jack – our Trainee Credit Analyst.

One of the newer members of the team here, Jack has been doing a sterling job, and thanks to his friendly, easy-going nature has fitted in brilliantly with our close-knit team.

So, take it away Jack.

Can you describe your role?

As a Trainee Credit Analyst, I review credit proposals for limited companies seeking finance; I assess the risk of taking on the deal and make a judgement as to whether it’s a good deal for us. I work closely with all the team to ensure that businesses receive the right funding based on their financial needs.

What do you love about your job?

I enjoy the atmosphere of the office – everyone is a good laugh and easy to get on with! It really helps you to enjoy your work when your colleagues are so welcoming and I learn a lot from all of them.

How do you relax?

I relax by playing Xbox, watching football or F1, or finding a pub with my friends with a pool table!

What do people find surprising about you?

I run an Xbox F1 league with over 350 active members. We have our own Twitch streams (live video streaming), merchandise, and a semi-pro esports team.

Tea or coffee?

I don’t really drink hot drinks, but when I do it’s a black coffee.

Restaurant or take out?

Can never turn down a take-away!

Cats or dogs?

Definitely dogs: cats don’t seem to like me very much!

Bournemouth Beach or New Forest?

New Forest. I recently completed a straight-line mission across the New Forest, from Sopley to Hythe. It took two days and we walked 32km! We’re now planning our next walking route.

All-inclusive hotel, or cultural city break?

All inclusive; what more could you want?
